"Saucin' On You"
On December 9, 2016, Post Malone released his debut album called Stoney. Though Post Malone is widely known for his underrated song "White Iverson", Stoney is a project that holds many different variations of that same quality sound of music.
Throughout the album, Malone manages to maintain a consistent point of view with his lyrics and musical concepts. You can tell that Post prides himself on his rockstar lifestyle, free use of drugs, and his perseverance over the course of his life. Although this may not be the best album that we have heard in 2016, this is a great album for Post Malone himself. Stoney is a project that solidified a current sound for Post Malone, and allows him to create a solid foundation in the game right now.
Throughout this album, Malone also does a job turning heads with his production. Next to himself being the executive producer of the album, he had heavy hitters such as Metro Boomin, Pharell, and DJ Mustard create sounds on the album as well. With the help of these producers and the limited features on the album, Malone was able to create a great balance of music for the Winter.
A few of my favorite moments on the album are “Too Young”, the switch-ups on “Yours Truly, Austin Post” and the essence of “Up There”.
